"New" graphicSeeking energy-saving technologies ~ ~  The U.S. Department of Energy's Inventions and Innovation program is accepting proposals to help individuals and small businesses bring their energy-saving technologies to the marketplace. I&I funds grants up to $50,000 for early-stage development, $250,000 for prototypes, and $500,000 for one demonstration project conducted by a previous winner. Applications are due June 21, 2004.   • Nolo.com publishes a variety of books on law, including those pertaining to patents, trademarks, and copyrights.. The BIC Library has many of those books. They also have articles in their free online legal encyclopedia.

SBIR programs fund early-stage R&D projects at small technology companies — projects that have the potential for commercialization in the private sector and/or military markets.
